UFL1 - WEEK TWO PREVIEW
Week two sees Coach Knops's Wolf Pack take on Coach Shaw's Hawks, this will see Owen Yarwood "The Field General" taking on Krishan "Six Gun" Johnson. What could be the difference maker in this game? The dynamic Joe Bliss who was a scoring target three times for the prolific Johnson, or #1 overall pick Kailum "Hot Wheels" Sandison for The Howlers? With the strength in depth throughout the two teams, the scales could tip from any position on the field. With the disruption of the Thunder's high octane offence by the Pack's defence, that edge could be the X Factor on the day.
In the other fixture, Coaches Smith & Yarwood will unleash their Mavericks on the Thunder, with Coach Campbell back on the sideline after having to miss the last game due to playing for the victorious Carnegie men's team. His assistant coaches (Lucy Peaty, Dougie Buchanan and Elliott Hutton) certainly didn't let him down though, losing by only one point in a 77 point shootout that set the league's first week of competition on fire. A well balanced Hawks roster saw Crossthwaite, Duffey, Nicholson and Landau all scoring in their nailbiting win last weekend, but the Thunder's exciting and open style of play has only to repeat their speed and intensity of last week - with Cameron Cooper and Zak Thompson bringing down a storm of points - and they may grab their first W of UFL1.
